Frequently asked questions
Answers about balkans.lu: listings, pricing, categories, search, corrections and location in Luxembourg.
What is balkans.lu?
balkans.lu is a free directory of Balkan-related businesses, clinics, trades, restaurants and services in Luxembourg. It helps you find offers by category, city, language and optionally by distance.
Who is balkans.lu for?
For people in Luxembourg looking for Balkan-related businesses and services, and for owners who want their business listed at no charge. The site is available in BKS, German, English, French and Albanian.
Does a listing cost money?
No. Submitting, reviewing and publishing a listing is free. There is no mandatory fee for listing or visibility.
How do I get my business listed?
Use “Submit a business” to send a listing. We review name, category, contact details and content, then publish, or contact you if something is unclear. No account is required.
How long until a listing goes live?
Listings are not published instantly: every submission is reviewed manually. Usually within 3 days. Complete details (contact, city, a sensible category) help us approve faster.
What makes a strong listing?
At least name, category, city and one contact method (phone or email/website). Address, opening hours, languages, photos, website/socials and a short services description help a lot.
Which categories are covered?
Including gastronomy, health, trades, retail, services, education and other Balkan-related offers in Luxembourg. When submitting, you pick a category and, where useful, a subcategory.
Is balkans.lu only for Luxembourg?
Yes. The focus is businesses and services related to Luxembourg. Cities and locations refer to Luxembourg, not a Europe-wide directory.
Do I need an account?
No. You can browse without logging in. Submitting a business and change/deletion requests also work without a business account.
How does search work?
On the home page you filter by keyword, category and city. With location allowed, we also sort by distance. Without location we don’t show misleading kilometre figures.
Why location / distance?
With location allowed, we sort listings by distance to you. Without it we don’t invent kilometres. You can enable or disable location anytime via the button.
How do I correct or remove a listing?
On the company page, open “Suggest a change / Report info / Request deletion”. Describe the request briefly and leave a phone or email. We take the request for review.
Who can request a change or deletion?
Owners, staff or others with a legitimate interest. In the form you state your role and a reachable contact so we can review the request.
Are listings always up to date?
We review new submissions and reported corrections manually. Businesses change. If something is wrong, please use the report/change option on the company page.
How is balkans.lu different from Google Maps?
balkans.lu is a focused directory for Balkan-related offers in Luxembourg, with categories, languages and clear contact details. It doesn’t replace a maps app; it helps you find and present businesses more specifically.
Who is responsible for listing information?
Listings mostly come from submissions and are reviewed in good faith. We do our best, but we don’t guarantee accuracy, completeness or that details stay up to date. When a report is justified, we correct or remove listings. More in the imprint.
Who runs balkans.lu?
The operator is Haris Dacic (haris.lu) in Luxembourg. Legal details are in the imprint and privacy policy.
